win has dented chances big time. WI would now need to win their last two matches by a combined aggregate of ~95 runs, need beat SA by ~50 runs & net run difference ~40 runs in their last two games. Tall order!!!

to try to win this match in 10 overs with eight down rather than win in 17 overs with three down. Should try their best to put their NRR out of reach of both & given their last match is against

has hit five sixes across 75 overs in the Super 12 phase. That is one six fewer than what Jos Buttler hit in just yesterday's knock alone.

Toss - South Africa opt to bowl

No surprises with that decision from Temba Bavuma. South Africa are unchanged so they are not confident of Shamsi and Miller pulling through. Bangladesh have made two changes. Shamim Hossain replaces Shakib but they have also opted to rest Mustafizur Rahman. Nasum Ahmed comes in place of the left-arm pacer.

Teams:

Bangladesh (Playing XI): Mohammad Naim, Liton Das(w), Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah(c), Afif Hossain, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed

South Africa (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Reeza Hendricks, Temba Bavuma(c), Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi

Build up

Safe to say that South Africa have now settled down after the Quinton de Kock fiasco. It's never a great sight when cricket isn't making headlines for a side in a global event but South Africa managed to weather the storm in the last two games and came out on top after losing to Australia in their first game. The last two results firmly keeps them in the race for a semifinal spot but they will have to strengthen their position further with a victory today.

Bangladesh on the other hand are almost out of the competition. It's been a topsy-turvy tournament for the Asian side and Shakib Al Hasan's absence only makes it all the more harder. They are expected to put up a fight but South Africa are clear favourites. It will be interesting to see who replaces Shakib in the playing XI for Bangladesh whereas South Africa have concerns around David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi as well. Just wondering if South Africa will be better served interchanging Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram in that batting order. We will wait and see. Welcome to the live blog for this vital clash.
