Current and former national cricketers led by Tamim Iqbal had an impromptu meeting with Bangladesh Cricket Board president Faruque Ahmed at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium as they felt insulted with the recent activities of the board.

In the recent past, Towhid Hridoy turned out to be a topic of discussion as BCB cricket operations chairman and newly appointed convener of the CCDM technical committee, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, confirmed on 24 April that Mohammedan Sporting Club captain Towhid Hridoy will be suspended for his team's upcoming match against Gazi Group on 26 April.

The decision came after there was a huge scale of criticism following Hridoy's premature return to the field after serving only one match of a two-game ban. Former CCDM technical committee convener Enamul Haque Moni stepped down in protest at how the matter of Hridoy was handled while Cricbuzz learnt that BCB elite umpire Sharafuddoula Ibne Saikat, who was involved in the Dhaka Premier League match in which Hridoy misbehaved, also submitted his resignation to the board as he was not ready to continue after the ban was curtailed.

Furthermore, there were other incidents. The Anti Corruption United members of BCB summoned Naeem and Sabbir of Shinepukur Club to the academy ground of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, where ACU officials attempted to reconstruct the controversial dismissal using cameras positioned on either side of the central wicket after the BCB
