Bengal vs Gujarat - stumps

Bengal collected 177 for 1 in their second innings on Day 3 to take control of their match versus defending champions Gujarat. The East Zone side was in front by 307 when the stumps were drawn. Easwaran, who compiled a vital ton in the first essay, again showed his class with a fine undefeated 93.

Gujarat, on the the other hand, were cleaned up for 224 in the first innings with Dinda and Porel taking six wickets between them.

Delhi vs MP - stumps

Delhi took firm control of their game against MP as the Central Zone side was in trouble at 47 for 2 in the second innings, behind by 20 at stumps. Delhi composed 405 to take a first innings lead of 67 with Chandela top-scoring - 81. Himmat Singh amassed 71 down the order.

Vidarbha vs Kerala - close of play

Vidarbha stormed back in their match versus Kerala by cleaning up the opposition for 176 - the last five wickets fell for 15. Gurbani was the chief wicket-taker with a five-wicket haul.

Faiz Fazal then extended the first innings lead with an undefeated 51 as Vidarbha finished the day 147 ahead.

Karnataka vs Mumbai - stumps

Three days and Karnataka have dominated every one of them. On Day 3, Gopal composed a well paced 150, going past his previous highest score in first class cricket of 145. Arvind, batting at 11, himself crunched a fifty as Karnataka took a massive lead of 397.

Arvind and Gowtham then picked up three scalps between them to reduce Mumbai to 120 for 3, still trailing by 277 at stumps on Day 3. Mithun also bowled a good spell late in the day but Abbas grassed a chance off his bowling with Herwadkar bring the beneficiary. Suryakumar accrued a fine unbeaten 55 for Mumbai.

Mumbai still have a mountain to climb to even force Karnataka to bat again!

Another one down for Mumbai

Mumbai dip further as they lose their third wicket, with the score reading 114. A rather harmless delivery from Gowtham which Herwadkar chipped it straight to Abbas at midwicket, who made up for his earlier fluffed chance by taking it. After doing all the hard work, Herwadkar has given it away, just 8 minutes left for the day's play to end!

Delhilead by 67

Delhi were eventually bowled out for 405, gaining the crucial first innings lead of 67. Chandela accrued 81 while Shorey scored 78. Himmat Singh, down the order, composed 78 which helped Delhi to cross MP's total. Mihir Hirwani picked up a five-fer for MP.

Fluffed chance

Nair's fielding has been excellent this game but for once it wasn't the case as Mithun got one to straighten from round the wicket, Herwadkar edged it to Abbas at the slip but he couldn't pouch it. Mumbai are well behind in this game but Mithun would be a disappointed man as he tempted Herwadkar to open the bat face only for the fielder to drop it.

Bengal on top

After skittling out Gujarat for 224, Abhimanyu Easwaran (62 not out) for the second time in two innings, is holding the Bengal innings together. The East Zone side now are 104 for 1 in the second dig, ahead by 234 runs. The defending champions seem to be on their way out of the tournament.

Impressive comeback from Vidarbha

Vidarbha have comeback strongly to pick up 5 wickets for just 11 runs to clean up Kerala for 176 and a lead of 70! At 165 for 5, the South Zone side seemed to be on course to eke out a slender lead. Unfortunately for them, Gurbani ran through the cream of the lower, which included the scalps of Baby, Karthik, Thampi and Akshay.

The Kerala camp would be disappointed and dejected as this was a great chance for them to secure a lead and take one step closer to the semifinal stage of the tournament.

Mumbai in dire straits!

Even in the second innings, Mumbai find themselves in trouble. Prithvi (14) and Bista (20) have been dismissed, with Arvind and Gowtham picking up the scalps. A lot was expected from the promising Prithvi but the young man hasn't delivered in this match.

Delhi earn lead

Delhi take the innings lead versus Madhya Pradesh with Himmat Singh composing a fine hand of 45. MP had made 338 in the first essay.

Karnataka earn mammoth lead

Gopal went past his previous highest first class score of 145 and completed 150 before Malhotra castled Arvind for 51 to bring to an end the agony for the former champions.

Karnataka have a first innings lead of 397! Mumbai have a herculean task to even force Karnataka to bat again.
