The grind was on for Pakistan in the afternoon session on Day 1 of the second Test against England in Multan. Saim Ayub (77) and Kamran Ghulam (75*) carried on from where they left off in the morning session with a measured partnership. While spin continued to play a part in England's plans, the scoring rate for Pakistan increased considerably post-lunch as they scored 94 runs in the 28 overs bowled, scoring at 3.36 runs-per-over as opposed to the run rate of 2.72 in the morning session.
