Gujarat Giants have appointed Australia's wicketkeeper-bat Beth Mooney as their captain for the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League. Indian off-spinning allrounder Sneh Rana has been named Mooney's deputy.

Mooney, 29, has a stellar record in T20Is, having amassed 2350 runs in 83 matches at a stellar average of 40.51 and a strike-rate of 124.60. She's hit two international hundreds in the format, and 18 fifties, the latest of which came in the just-concluded Women's T20 World Cup final
