INDIA WIN BY 6 WICKETS And India wrap this up, rather comfortable with 6 wickets in hand. This was a comprehensive victory led by centuries by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to back up a good bowling performance led by Jasprit Bumrah's three-fer. For Sri Lanka, the veteran Angelo Mathews scored a fighting centuryt to revive Sri Lanka's innings from a precarious position to help them post a reasonable total. India have moved to the top of the points table with this win, but they will have to wait for the result of the Australia-South Africa match taking place at Manchester to know whether they will be facing England or New Zealand in the semifinals.

Sri Lanka finish the world cup with only eight points and three wins in seven complete games. Coming into the world cup, not much was expected of them but they punched above their weight, and in their best performance, beat England to make the entire tournament exciting and open it up for a few weeks. Lasith Malinga, who even in his twilight still remained their best player in the tournament, has played his final world cup match and possibly even his last ODI. Among other retirements, is Ian Gould, who officiated in his last international game.
