INDIA WIN BY 6 WICKETS And India wrap this up, rather comfortable with 6 wickets in hand. This was a comprehensive victory led by centuries by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to back up a good bowling performance led by Jasprit Bumrah's three-fer. For Sri Lanka, the veteran Angelo Mathews scored a fighting centuryt to revive Sri Lanka's innings from a precarious position to help them post a reasonable total. India have moved to the top of the points table with this win, but they will have to wait for the result of the Australia-South Africa match taking place at Manchester to know whether they will be facing England or New Zealand in the semifinals.

Sri Lanka finish the world cup with only eight points and three wins in seven complete games. Coming into the world cup, not much was expected of them but they punched above their weight, and in their best performance, beat England to make the entire tournament exciting and open it up for a few weeks. Lasith Malinga, who even in his twilight still remained their best player in the tournament, has played his final world cup match and possibly even his last ODI. Among other retirements, is Ian Gould, who officiated in his last international game.

WICKET India are stumbling a bit near the finish line. Rishabh Pant is out legbefore. Ian Gould, umpiring in his last ODI match, gives it not out but has to overturn the decision after Sri Lanka take a review.

WICKET KL Rahul has fallen. Lasith Malinga, who has had a terrible day with the ball, finally gets a wicket. It may have little consequence with regards to the match but for the legendary pacer, this takes him past Wasim Akram and makes him the third highest wicket-taker ever in world cup history.

CENTURY On a good batting wicket, KL Rahul has made good use of the conditions to bring up his maiden world cup century. This was much-needed as tougher assignments await India in the crucial phases of the world cup.

WICKET A fine record-shattering innings by Rohit Sharma has come to an end. Sri Lanka finally manage to strike. But maybe it has come too late. Not something that should derail India's innings.

Tendulkar = Rohit What a performance from Rohit. He becomes the first to score five centuries in a single World Cup. Short ball and pulled to the midwicket fence. Tendulkar had six centuries in World Cup. Rohit has six now. Will he go past Tendulkar's tally in this World Cup? Highly likely!

India 183 for no loss

FIFTY After an entertaining start, KL Rahul slowed down and became the secondary partner in the alliance with Rohit Sharma, but has worked his way to an untroubled half-century.

TON UP FOR THE ROHIT-RAHUL PARTNERSHIP
